Њихова Краљевска Височанства Престолонаследник Александар и Принцеза Катарина присуствовали су данас промоцији књиге „Војска Србије у Великом рату 1914-1918“, коју је написао господин Душан Бабац, члан Крунског Већа, одржаној у „Одбрана“ Медија центру.

Поред Њихових Краљевских Височанстава, догађају су присуствовали и министар одбране у техничкој влади, Њ.Е. г-дин Небојша Родић, Генерал Модраг Гордић, заменик команданта ваздухопловства, Његово Преосвештенство епископ ремезијански Г. Андреј, чланови Крунског Савета, г. Драгомир Ацовић, г. Предраг Марковић, г. Ђорђе Ђуришић и г. Дарко Спасић, као и многи други цењени гости.

Књига илуструје велику победу Србије у Првом светском рату у ком је изгубила око милион људи, од којих су 400.000 били војници. Ниједна друга земља која је учествовала у овом рату није платила тако високу цену за своју слободу.

Поред аутора, присутнима су се обратили проф. др Миле Бјелајац и историчар др Милош Ковић.

Crown Couple attend book promotion “Serbian Army in the Great War 1914-1918” 

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine attended today a book promotion for “Serbian Army in the Great War, 1914-1918” written by Mr. Dusan Babac, member of the Privy Council, held at “Odbrana” Media Centre.

Besides Their Royal Highnesses, the event was also attended by the Minister of Defence in the technical Government, HE Mr. Nebojsa Rodic, General Miodrag Gordic, deputy Commander of Serbian Air force, His Grace Bishop Andrej of Remezijan, members of the Crown Council, Mr. Dragomir Acovic, Mr. Predrag Markovic, Mr. Djordje Djurisic and Mr. Darko Spasic, as well as many other distinguished guests.

The book illustrates the great victory of Serbia in the First World War in which it has lost approximately a million people out of which 400,000 were soldiers. No other country that participated in this war paid such a heavy price for its freedom.

Besides the author, Prof. Dr Mile Bjelajac and historian Dr. Milos Kovic addressed the present.

Њихова Краљевска Височанства  Престолонаследник Александар II, Принцеза Катарина и Принц Филип, у пратњи академика г-дина Матије Бећковића, члана Крунског савета, г-дина Владана Живуловића члана Крунског савета, г-дина Душана Бабца, члана Крунског већа, г-дина Ђурђа Нинковића, члана Крунског кабинета присуствовали су данас свечаности обележавања Дана државности Србије и 210. годишњице подизања Првог српског устанка у Орашцу. Свечаности су присуствовали у г-дин Владимир Божовић, државни секретар у Министарству унутрашњих послова, и г-дин Драган Јовановић, председник општине Топола.

Обележавање је започело Светом Архијерејском Литургијом коју је служио Његово Преосвештенство Владика шумадијски Г. Јован, уз саслужење свештенства Епархије шумадијске.

Потом је одржан помен у Марићевића јарузи, а онда је Њ.К.В. Престолонаследник Александар, представници Војске Србије, председник општине Топола положили венце на споменик Карађорђу. У оквиру церемоније, говоре су одржали Њ.К.В. Престолонаследник Александар II, и Његово Преосвештенство Владика шумадијски Г. Јован.

Престолонаследник Александар  је истакао у свом говору: „Тачно пре две стотине десет година, на овом месту, најугледнији Срби договорили су се да подигну устанак против отоманске окупације. За вођу су изабрали мог чукун-чукундеду Карађорђа. Сваки пут када дођем у Орашац, осећам неизмеран понос према нашим прецима. Осећам и огромну одговорност према њиховом величанственом достигнућу, обнови српске државе. Морамо се чешће него једном годишње, на Сретење, сећати наших предака. Да се надахнемо њиховом храброшћу и да нађемо ослонац у њиховој спремности на велика дела. Треба да се сећамо да су времена пре две стотине година свакако била много тежа него данас, и да су се очеви наше нације сигурно суочавали са неуопредиво већим препрекама од оних које су пред нама данас.  Такође, треба да се сећамо колико су велики људи били наши преци, иако нису били свеци, и колико је наша историја деветнаестог века, упркос многим падовима, била испуњена сјајним успесима. Један од таквих блиставих историјских тренутака свакако је било подизање Првог српског устанка. Веома сам срећан што данас, са вама овде, прослављам сећање на тај велики дан. Нека нам храброст наших предака буду узор за будућност, да нашим потомцима оставимо нешто на шта ће бити поносни.“

Након тога, Њихова Краљевска Височанства Престолонаследник Александар, Принцеза Катарина, Принц Филип и чланови саветодавних тела Круне присуствовали су служби коју је у цркви Светог Ђорђа на Опленцу одржао Његово Преосвештенство Владика шумадијски Г. Јован. Потом је Његово Краљевско Височанство Престолонаследник Александар положио венац на гроб врховног Вожда Првог српског устанка, Карађорђа.

Њихова Краљевска Височанства Престолонаследник Александар II, Принцеза Катарина и Принц Филип присуствовали су данас поподне свечаном пријему поводом Дана државности у председништву Србије, који је приредио Њ.Е. г-дин Томислав Николић, председник републике Србије. Затим су током вечери Њихова Краљевска Височанства били на концерту Гудача Светог Ђорђа у шабачком позоришту „Љубиша Јовановић“. Концерту су присуствовали и Његово Преосвештенство Владика шабачки Г. Лаврентије и г-дин Милош Милошевић, градоначелник Шапца.

Гудачи Светог Ђорђа раде под покровитељством Његовог Краљевског Височанства Принца Филипа, а концерт су одржали поводом Дана државности Србије. На програму су били симфонија у Г-дуру Карла Филипа Емануела Баха и Квартет оп. 95 Лудвига Ван Бетовена.

Royal Family at National Day and 210th anniversary of First Serbian Uprising celebration

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II, Crown Princess Katherine and Prince Philip, accompanied by academician Mr Matija Beckovic, member of the Crown Council, Mr Vladan Zivulovic, member of the Privy Council Mr Dusan Babac, and a member of the Crown Cabinet Mr Djurdje Ninkovic, attended the ceremony of marking the National Day of Serbia and the 210th anniversary of the First Serbian Uprising in Orasac. Ceremony was attended by Mr. Vladimir Bozovic, state secretary at the Ministry of the interior and Mr. Bojan Radovic, mayor of Arandjelovac.

The celebration began with Holy Liturgy officiated by His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadija and the clergy of Sumadija diocese.

A memorial service was held in Maricevica Gully, where HRH Crown Prince Alexander II, laid wreath on the monument to Karadjordje. A speeches was delivered by HRH Crown Prince Alexander, and His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadija.

In his speech, HRH Crown Prince Alexander II emphasised: “Exactly two hundred and ten years ago, at this place, the most prominent Serbs came to a decision to begin the uprising against the Ottoman occupation. They chose Karadjordje as their leader. Here in Orasac, it is a right place and a right time to remember them all and to thank them. This place keeps testimony about courage and vision that our fathers have had. It is great moment to say that we today are aware of the importance of their achievements, and that we find an inspiration in their deeds for the steps we have to make as society in the future. We speak with pride today about Karadjordje, but we also remember and look upon Dositej Obradovic, Vuk Karadzic, Tesla and Mihailo Pupin, Isidora Sekulic and Ivo Andric, Paja Jovanovic and Nadezda Petrovic, Stevan Mokranjac and many others. Let these great people of our nation be our inspiration in the future. Therefore our past will be pledge for a better future. For our children, for us, for our society, for our Serbia”.

After that, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II, Crown Princess Katherine, Prince Philip and the members of the advisory bodies of the Crown attended a memorial service in the church of St. George in Oplenac, officiated by His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadija. Then His Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander laid a wreath on the tomb of Karadjordje, the Supreme Leader of the First Serbian Uprising. The wreath was also laid by Mr. Dragan Jovanovic, mayor of Topola.

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II, Crown Princess Katherine and Prince Philip attended this afternoon a reception on the occasion of Serbian statehood Day, hosted by H.E. Mr Tomislav Nikolic, President of Republic of Serbia. In the evening, Their Royal Highnesses attended a concert given by the Royal Strings of St George at Sabac theatre “Ljubisa Jovanovic”. The concert was also attended His Grace Bishop Lavrentije of Sabac and Mr. Milos Milosevic, Mayor of Sabac.

The Royal Strings of St George is under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, and the concert was held on the occasion of today's National Day. The repertoire included the Symphony in G-major by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and the Quartet op. 95 by Ludwig Van Beethoven.

Њихова Краљевска Височанства Престолонаследник Александар II и Принцеза Катарина заједно са Њ.Е. г-дином Ивицом Дачићем, председником Владе Србије, присуствовали су синоћ у Њујорку обележавању дана државности Србије у организацији Генералног Конзулата Републике Србије у Њујорку на челу са г-ђом Миријаном Живковић, генералним конзулом Републике Србије у Њујорку.

Прослави Дана државности Србије у Њујорку присуствовали су и представници дипломатског кора амбасада при Уједињеним Нацијама,  лидер Српског Покрета Обнове г-дин Вук Драшковић, представници Лајфлајн одбора Њујорк. Дан државности Републике Србије је 15. фебруар. Овај датум један је од најбитнијих у политичком, културном и историјском календару Србије. Поред тога што је Дан државности, он је и Дан уставности Србије, али и дан сећања на  Први српски устанак који је подигао Вожд Карађорђе, предак Њ.К.В. Престолонаследника Александра II. Дан државности Србије се славио до настанка Краљевине Срба, Хрвата и Словенаца, након чега је укинут, да би у Србији поново почео да се слави од 2002. године.

Royal couple attends National Day of Serbia celebration in New York

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine, together with HE Mr Ivica Dacic, Serbian Prime Minister, attended the celebration of the National Day of Serbia in New York last night, organised by the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York and Mrs Mirjana Zivkovic, Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York.

Serbian Statehood Day in New York was attended by the representatives of the diplomatic corps at the United Nations, the leader of the Serbian Renewal Movement, Mr Vuk Draskovic and Lifeline New York representatives. The National Day of the Republic of Serbia is 15 February. This date is one of the most important political, cultural, and historical dates in Serbia. In addition to the National Day, it is also the Serbian Constitution Day, and Remembrance Day of the First Serbian Uprising, which was led by the Supreme Leader Karadjordje, the ancestor of HRH Crown Prince Alexander II. Serbian Statehood Day had been celebrated until the establishment of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, after which it was abandoned, and it was reinstated and celebrated again in Serbia in 2002.

Вашингтон, Београд - Молитвени доручак у Вашингтону је добра прилика да се лидери из целог света сретну са америчким званичницима. У хотелу Хилтон, у коме је одржан молитвени доручак, било је много људи - председника, потпредседника, сенатора и конгресмена из више од 100 земаља.

Атмосфера је била срдачна, ту се не прича о политици - каже за Данас принц Александар Карађорђевић, који је прекјуче с принцезом Катарином био један од представника Србије на Молитвеном доручку, чији је домаћин председник САД Барак Обама.

Александар Карађорђевић каже да је ово пети пут да присуствује овој традиционалној америчкој манифестацији и да су Карађорђевићи били једина краљевска породица на овогодишњем Молитвеном доручку. Није се посебно видео са америчким председником Бараком Обамом, али је са премијером у оставци Ивицом Дачићем био у делегацији Србије, која се срела са државним секретаром САД Џоном Керијем.

- Сусрет је трајао неколико минута. Био је то сјајан и топао разговор. Керија познајем већ дуго година, још док је био сенатор и много пута сам био у његовој канцеларији. Пре Молитвеног доручка премијер Дачић, моја супруга и ја смо, као представници наше земље, у посебној, издвојеној просторији имали сусрет са тридесетак сенатора и конгресмена - објашњава наш саговорник.

Према његовим речима, Србију је представљала велика делегација са Дачићем. На питање да ли се српска делегација срела са представницима Косова, које је предводио премијер Хашим Тачи, принц одговара потврдно, напомињући да се све завршило на руковању.

- Домаћини желе да са људима из свих делова света склопе што више пријатељстава са представницима америчког државног система. Сенатори из Пенсилваније и Вајоминга били су добро друштво за нашим столом. Амерички председник држао је одличан говор о људским и верским правима. Заложио се за поштовање свих религија широм света. Говорио је о ситуацији у Израелу, Палестини и ухапшеним људима у Северној Кореји, Ирану и другим државама и поручио да треба да буду ослобођени - истиче саговорник нашег листа.

Каже да је на њега највећи утисак оставио "пријатељски став страних политичара и САД према нашој земљи, иако многи не знају где се Србија налази".

- Један од страних званичника руковао се са мном и питао ме: "Одакле сте?" Рекао сам: "Из Београда, Србија." Узвратио је: "Лепо, али мора да је врло хладно у Сибиру." На нама је да објашњавамо да живимо у лепој земљи у Европи, а не на Антарктику - указује Александар Карађорђевић.

Он каже да свој "амерички програм" после Вашингтона наставља у Њујорку, где намерава да после српских парламентарних избора организује конференцију за промоцију Србије.

На 62. молитвеном доручку у Вашингтону у српској делегацији били су још и председник СПО Вук Драшковић, страначки функционери Зоран Бабић (СНС), Владимир Маринковић (СПДС), као и Душко Кнежевић, председник Атлас групе.

Молитвени доручак се од 1953. традиционално одржава сваког првог четвртка у фебруару. Званицама из целог света, по правилу, обраћа се и председник САД.

The Prayer Breakfast in Washington is a good opportunity for leaders from all over the world to meet with American officials. There was lot of guests at the Hilton Hotel where the prayer breakfast took place – presidents, vice presidents, senators and congressmen from more than 100 countries. The mood was cordial, and no politics was discussed there, says Prince Alexander Karageorgevitch for “Danas”, who has with others been representing Serbia with Crown Princess Katherine the day before yesterday at the National Prayer Breakfast, hosted by the Unites States President Barack Obama.

Alexander Karageorgevitch says that was fifth time he was attending this traditional American gathering, and that the Karageorgevitch’s were the only Royal family present at this year’s prayer breakfast. He didn’t meet with the United States President Barack Obama, but he was part of delegation of Serbia together with Prime Minister Ivica Dacic that met with the United States Secretary of State John Kerry.

- We met briefly. It was extraordinary and warm conversation. I have known Kerry for many years, since he was a senator, and I met him many times in his office. Before the prayer breakfast, Prime Minister Dacic, my wife and I, as representatives of our country, met a group of around thirty congressmen and senators in a separate meeting room, he explains.

Serbia was represented by a huge delegation, with Dacic. Asked whether the Serbian delegation met with representatives of Kosovo, led by Prime Minister Hashim Tachi, Prince confirms, adding that it was all about shaking hands. 

- The hosts want to make friends with as many people from all around the world as they can. The Senators from Pennsylvania and Wyoming were good company at our table. The American President made an excellent speech about human and religious rights. He advocates for respecting every religion. He spoke about the situation in Israel, Palestine and people arrested in North Korea, Iran and other states and emphasised they should be released, says our interviewer.

He says that friendly attitude of foreign politician’s and representatives of United Sattes towards our country made the greatest impression on him, although some of them don’t  know much about Serbia.

- One of the foreign representatives shook hands with me and asked “where do you come from?” I said “from Belgrade, Serbia”. He replied “nice, but it must be very cold in Siberia”. It is up to us to explain that we live in a beautiful country in Europe, and not in Antarctica, emphasise Alexander Karageorgevitch. 

He says he would continue his “American programme” in New York after Washington, and he plans to organise a conference for the promotion of Serbia, after the Serbian parliamentary elections.

At the 62nd National Prayer Breakfast in Washington as part of Serbian delegation there were also present the President of Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) Vuk Draskovic, politicians Zoran Babic (SNS) and Vladimir Marinkovic (SDPS), as well as Dusko Knezevic, President of Atlas Group.

The National prayer breakfast has been organised traditionally since 1953 on first Thursday in February. Invitees from all over the world have been regularly addressed by the President of the United States.

Њ.К.В. Принц Наследник Петар је рођен 5.фебруара 1980. у Чикагу у држави Илиноис. Најстарији је син Њ.К.В. Престолонаследника Александра и Њ.И.К.В. Принцезе Марије да Глорије од Орлеанса и Браганце. Принц Петар је унук Њ.В.Краља Петра II  И Њ.В. Краљице Александре. Његов крштени кум је Њ.К.В. Кнез Александар од Југославије, син Њ.К.В. Кнеза Регента Павла од Југославије.

Принц Петар је живео у Чикагу до краја 1981. године,када се преселио са родитељима у Вирџинију где је похађао обданиште Тајсонс Корнер 1983.године. У Лондону, када му је било осам година похађао једно од најцењенијих припремних школа за предшколски узраст.

Принц Петар дипломирао је на Кентерберијској Краљевској школи у Енглеској са највишим оценама из уметности, француског и шпанског језика као и десет ГЦСЕ сертификата високог образовања. Похађао је и са успехом завршио курс Камбервел колеџа за уметност Института у Лондону. Принц Петар се усавршавао у Европи на пољу дизајна и илустровања углавном у Севиљи и Барселони. У престижној школи дизајна на Роуд Ајленду на Источној обали Сједињених држава усавршавао се годину дана након чега је уследила успешна каријера у Лондону и Њујорку у области графичког дизајна и уметности где је имао прилику да сарађује са бројним познатим брендовима и међународним клијентима. Његова пасија је развој визуалних концепата кроз сарадњу са креативцима из других области интересовања зарад постизања разноврсности идеја и медија комуникације.

Hereditary Prince Peter’s birthday

Hereditary Prince Peter was born 5 February 1980 in Chicago, Illinois. He is the eldest son of HRH Crown Prince Alexander and HIRH Princess Maria da Gloria of Orleans and Bragança. Prince Peter is the grandson of HM King Peter II  and HM Queen Alexandra. His Godfather is HRH Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia, son of HRH Prince Regent Paul of Yugoslavia.

Prince Peter lived in Chicago until the end of 1981, when he moved with his parents to Virginia. In 1983, he first attended morning pre-school in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia, following this he went to day school. In 1988 at the age of eight, he attended one of London’s top preparatory day schools.

Prince Peter graduated from The King’s School Canterbury in England having obtained three “A” level’s in Art, Spanish and French, and ten GCSE’s (General Certificate of Secondary Education).

Prince Peter completed in London an art foundation course at Camberwell College of Arts (London Institute). He also completed a series of design and illustration programmes on the European continent mainly in Barcelona and Seville. After spending a year at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) on the East Coast of the United States, he started working in the field of graphic design and art direction in London and New York, working with many international clients and brands. His passions include collaborating with other creatives outside of his direct area of expertise to achieve new and exciting visual concepts and ideas in a variety of media.

Njegovo Kraljevsko Visočanstvo Princ Naslednik Petar proslaviće svoj trideset i četvrti rođendan u sredu, 5. februara, u društvu najbližih prijatelja.

Nj.K.V. Princ Naslednik Petar je rođen 5.februara 1980. u Čikagu u državi Ilinois. Najstariji je sin Nj.K.V. Prestolonaslednika Aleksandra i Nj.I.K.V. Princeze Marije da Glorije od Orleansa i Bragance. Princ Petar je unuk Nj.V.Kralja Petra II I Nj.V. Kraljice Aleksandre. Njegov kršteni kum je Nj.K.V. Knez Aleksandar od Jugoslavije, sin Nj.K.V. Kneza Regenta Pavla od Jugoslavije.

Princ Petar je živeo u Čikagu do kraja 1981. godine,kada se preselio sa roditeljima u Virdžiniju gde je pohađao obdanište Tajsons Korner 1983.godine. U Londonu, kada mu je bilo osam godina pohađao jedno od najcenjenijih pripremnih škola za predškolski uzrast.

U prestižnoj školi dizajna na Roud Ajlendu na Istočnoj obali Sjedinjenih država usavršavao se godinu dana nakon čega je usledila uspešna karijera u Londonu i Njujorku u oblasti grafičkog dizajna i umetnosti gde je imao priliku da sarađuje sa brojnim poznatim brendovima i međunarodnim klijentima. Njegova pasija je razvoj vizualnih koncepata kroz saradnju sa kreativcima iz drugih oblasti interesovanja zarad postizanja raznovrsnosti ideja i medija komunikacije.

His Royal Highness Hereditary Prince Peter will celebrate his thirty-fourth birthday on Wednesday, February 5, in the company of his close friends.

Hereditary Prince Peter was born 5 February 1980 in Chicago, Illinois. He is the eldest son of HRH Crown Prince Alexander and HIRH Princess Maria da Gloria of Orleans and Bragança. Prince Peter is the grandson of HM King Peter II  and HM Queen Alexandra. His Godfather is HRH Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia, son of HRH Prince Regent Paul of Yugoslavia.

Prince Peter lived in Chicago until the end of 1981, when he moved with his parents to Virginia. In 1983, he first attended morning pre-school in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia, following this he went to day school. In 1988 at the age of eight, he attended one of London’s top preparatory day schools.

Prince Peter graduated from The King’s School Canterbury in England having obtained three “A” level’s in Art, Spanish and French, and ten GCSE’s (General Certificate of Secondary Education).

Prince Peter completed in London an art foundation course at Camberwell College of Arts (London Institute). He also completed a series of design and illustration programmes on the European continent mainly in Barcelona and Seville. After spending a year at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) on the East Coast of the United States, he started working in the field of graphic design and art direction in London and New York, working with many international clients and brands. His passions include collaborating with other creatives outside of his direct area of expertise to achieve new and exciting visual concepts and ideas in a variety of media.
